We had high hopes of returning to in-person this year, however we want to maintain safety for all of our participants...and last year's online event was such a success! We hope you will join us again this year to continue the tradition.

What is a Red Tent?

The tent symbolizes the cozy, warm, safe womb and the red symbolizes the life of blood. Communities around the world have been organizing Red Tents as a special place for birthing people to share their birth stories, celebrate pregnancy and birth experiences, and heal from traumatic ones. The goal of every Red Tent is to create community, record our stories, and practice deep listening. We are claiming this as a safe space for anyone who has the ability to give birth, has given birth, and/or was born with a uterus.

Every year San Diego Birth Network tries to capture qualities of empowerment, pride, community, and a sense of support, love, and innate wisdom. This is our sacred work. We hope that you join us.

This year, we are thrilled to have Dr. Chrissy Christian and Laura Brown with us to lead us in exercises that will help us ground ourselves and connect with our bodies.

Dr. Chrissy Christian, DC is a chiropractor, naturopath, and mom of two boys. She will lead us in guided meditation and visualization using the Heart Math Technique.

Laura Brown is a Full Spectrum Doula, Yoga Teacher, and Reiki Practitioner. She will help us reconnect with our bodies in a safe and gentle way with a movement break.

But as always, this event is centered around the stories of our community.

Since we are meeting virtually and can't be with you in person to make the space feel special, we invite you to create a space for yourself. You might set up cushions and/or pillows to make yourself a cozy nest, bring special items like a candle, salt lamp, stones, or something grounding to hold. You may create an altar with items that are meaningful to you. Or simply clear a space that is uncluttered and free from distraction.

We have created THREE different ticket categories:

1) Story Teller: Select if you would like to (or think you would like to) share your birth story

2) Listener: Select if you would like to just listen

3) Space Holder: Select if you are a Birth Worker and would like to help hold space for those sharing

*You do not have to share your birth story to attend. Listening ears and hearts are always welcomed ❤️ And we invite our elders to share their birth stories in this space as well. A story is powerful and welcomed, no matter how long ago.
