What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is an experienced trained professional who comes to help a new parent (and family) after the birth of their child/ren. They provide educational, emotional, and physical support in the months to come after birth.
Why do I need a Postpartum Doula?
- They reduce the incidence of postpartum depression.
- Increase the success rate of breastfeeding among birthing person and baby.
- They help manage the home and keep things in order such as: cleaning, cooking, watching baby, and watching the other children if necessary.
- They provide helpful resources that are available in the community to support the needs of the new family dynamic.
